Sunday Treat

In an effort to make Sundays more special AND keep sugar as a "treat" and not a major part of our diet, some time over the years we've created a Sunday Treat.  Basically, our goal (not always reality, but still a great ideal), is to have a very special treat only on Sundays.  It really has made Sundays special and fun, adding another way to worship our God.  After all, He not only created all treats, He kindly gave us all taste buds to enjoy them!

So there's one part of this post.  The other is that Lydia has never had a Sunday treat.  Or really, a "treat" of any kind.  I don't think that's completely fair and honest to write that, as what a "treat" is, is a matter of perspective and opinion.  For Lydia, berries are a treat.  Yogurt (plain) is a treat, especially if we let her eat it all by herself.  Having her Daddy throw her up into the air is a treat.  Walking around barefoot in the rain is a treat.  Having a sibling read her favorite book over and over is a treat.  You get the idea.  But as for sugar treats, she has never had one.  Until last Sunday.
We came across a popsicle-type treat with a rather clean ingredient list and decided our little Lydi was old enough for a Sunday treat.  It helped that she is also cutting huge molars and we knew the cold would feel good on her gums.

But I think we all had the real treat of watching her enjoy her first Sunday treat.
