Photos from the Farm Festival

We recently went to a farm festival in our area. It was a much bigger event than we had anticipated! Traffic to get into the parking area was backed up for five miles. We had a lot of fun, although it was crowded and hot (85 degrees that day!). Here's the highlights in photos...

These kettles are for cooking beans. You could buy a whole bucket of them. We do like beans, but perhaps not that much.

There was a hill on the edge of the festival grounds that was perfect for resting in the shade and for sliding...on pieces of cardboard! Both Joshy and Mari loved it. They came back covered in dust, dirt, and scrapes.

Eric let the little ones pick out whatever treat they wanted. We thought for sure they would choose ice cream, but they went for the cotton candy. What a sticky mess they became from that! However, it was worth it; we got a lot of attention from people passing by who laughed at Mari trying to eat this treat that was bigger than her head.

While Mari finished off her cotton candy and I sat in the shade again, Joshy and Eric played some kiddie carnival games. Sweet Joshy used part of the tickets that he won to buy a beaded necklace for Mari! She was thrilled.

This was Eric's favorite part-dancing tractors! Yes, these tractors are square dancing. It was really quite amazing all the precision work they did without hitting each other.

We're looking forward to going back next year, and hoping the weather will be a little less nice.
