Long are the days...but short are the years.

On Sunday evening, we...
Finally got the van in the garage, so there was room for scootering in the driveway...
...and pulling a sister in the red wagon...
...(and a fresh-cut lawn is so pleasant, even though it scared up a slew of snakes...at least two of them ended up in a bucket!)...
...we took goofy photos on the stairs while we waited for others to get ready for a family bike ride...

...and took a nice one, too, because I made them (see Joshy's newest gap in his smile?)...
...we biked to a park and took turns pushing the baby on the swing...
...which she loved...
...and no one got hurt...

...though we had to stop when the baby mistook "swing" for "sucky toy"...
...and we did other things, like play running games with the other neighborhood children, climb up slides, hang from monkey bars, and nearly fall from ten feet up except that Daddy still has great reflexes and the hands of a stellar quarterback so that the toddler was not hurt and able to enjoy other, closer-to-the-ground things like the giant toucan...
...and the giggle we all shared when Joshy tried to release his butterflies later that evening and one wouldn't leave Mari's hand and the other wouldn't leave Joshy alone...
...and the funny thing is this isn't the first time he's had a butterfly on his face or a butterfly that refused to leave. And I dare say it won't be his last.
