Great-Grandma and Grandma came to town! Day 5-Outdoor Play

We needed a recovery day from yesterday's adventures, so we stuck close to home. We enjoyed our own great outdoors instead. Our front yard is perfect for casual strolling, and at this time of year, the yard is also a great place for collecting nature souvenirs.
Of course, it helps it you can actually stroll. Sophia instead busied herself with crushing, and occasionally eating, all the nature souvenirs within her reach.
Joshy and Mari were delighted that their great-grandma has as much, if not more, imagination than they do. We have an older structure in the back yard on the edge of the woods. It's made of metal, has a frame and a roof, but no walls. Great-grandma immediately saw a potential playhouse. So the three quickly got to work collecting old cardboard and tarps to construct walls and a door.
They also explored the area surrounding the shelter at Great-Grandma's suggestion. She told them they never knew when they'd find treasure, and she was right. They unearthed, along with some other random metal parts, a whole pitchfork!
It was sure great for Mari and Joshy to have a creative and energetic playmate. Who knows what our yard would have looked like if Great-Grandma would have stayed a month!

That sounds so fun! I love the country, wish we could live somewhere like that. Maybe when we retire! Enjoy it....
